Filtered Water Cooler
Do you use boiled & cooled water to make bottles?
I am just switching my 6 month old over to formula and have been boiling and cooling water to make the bottles. Do I need to keep doing that, or can I use bottled or filtered water? We have a brita filter that we use for our drinking water, but I wasn’t sure if I can use that for his bottles or not. Thanks!
I stopped sterilizing everything and boiling water at about 4 months. I asked my doctor about bottled water and he said no way – use tap water. Not only it is more convenient, cheaper, and better for the environment, bottled water is no safer than tap water (assuming you’re on a municipal water system, not on uncontrolled well water, and you have water that’s not softened with a water softener). In fact, there is some potential concern about water sitting in plastic bottles for extended periods of time for both adults and children, so tap water is better.
